MASTER CHEF

Despina is a remarkable woman and Master Chef who loves to cook and bake! Having been in the restaurant over 20 years, she loves to build lasting relationships with her customers. She's a true woman of integrity and love, but also known as one tough "cookie." Despina was born in Thessaloniki, Greece and grew up in Binghamton, NY. Family is everything to her and so she strives to always find a way into the heart of others. She enjoys the community, and students who support the restaurant and her legacy in Binghamton will withstand the test of time. 

Elpi

MANAGER/CO-OWNER

Elpiniki is a very experienced waitress and a social butterfly. Despina's middle child and only daughter, she loves to exceed any and every expectation when it comes to serving your food and providing you with the best customer experience. Elpi enjoys building relationships with our customers and is all about family. In her free time she enjoys watching tv and watching the Giants!                

Nick

CHEF/CO-OWNER

Nick is the assistant chef and Despina's oldest son. He loves to cook, clean, and most importantly, take take of his children. A Family man and Mr. Do It All, he's always coming up with creative ideas to enhance and improve your experience, by going out of his way to make sure you are taken care of. He loves the Dallas Cowboys and catching up on the Sopranos. 

JIMMY

BUSINESS MANAGER/CO-OWNER

Jimmy is Despina's youngest son and mastermind of the business. He loves being around family and pushing them to be better. He handles the marketing/advertising and overall organization of the restaurant. A true conversationalist and firm believer in well manners, he dedicates himself to making the business grow on a local and national level. He's invested  in branding Despina's products and making sure that they are in every store near you! A graduate of Binghamton High School and Binghamton University, Jimmy wants to give back to the city he knows and loves, while remaining enthusiastic about what the future holds! In his free time he is an entrepreneur, model, basketball player and loves watching the Lakers. 

Our Promise to you

Our goal is to serve you beyond your expectations and make sure that you come back more than once to try our delicious Despina recipes! The family is down to earth and enjoys building relationships with everyone. One of the short term goals is to expand our menu (breakfast & early dinner).  Please stay tuned...

As for the long term goals we want to make DESPINA'S MEDITERRANEAN TASTE one of the best if not the BEST restaurant in Binghamton period. Then the next step would be to expand Despina's to open up a second location in Vestal or Johnson City to better serve the Tri-city area. To add to this, look for us at the Broome County Farmers’ Market, Roberson Museum Sip & Shops, as well as other local food focused events. We look forward to gratefully honoring Despina & her family’s recipes, traditions, and name that our community has come to love!
